To be honest, sharing content cross platform is something I still struggle with. The pressure to create on multiple platforms can feel crippling at times but I think I finally have a system figured out. But let’s first take a step back.
Before you can create on multiple platforms, you have to understand what type of content performs best on each platform. A friend turned me on to Chris Loves Julia’s new influencer how-to account called Good Influence(r.) They share great videos about social strategy including this one, which is a nice breakdown of the different content you should be creating on each platform. They cover Instagram, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, and Pinterest.
If the thought of being on five different platforms is overwhelming, you are not alone. My suggestion is to really master one platform before expanding to another. For me, Instagram is where I am most comfortable and where many of my ideas are born. I knew that a lot of my ideas on Instagram would translate to other platforms but simply reposting Instagram content on other platforms wasn’t cutting it. It wasn’t until I started making simple tweaks to my Instagram content that I started seeing traction on other other platforms. Let me walk you through an example:
