Welcome to Exposed Brick DC Pulse, a weekly newsletter for real estate professionals in the DMV looking to build their brand on social media. In addition to strategy, paid subscribers get access to topical content ideas ready to share with their audience. Think of it as a living drafts folder for all of the content I don’t have time to post on EBDC. Ready to subscribe? Tap the button below.

Unfortunately I spent the entire Labor Day Weekend on the couch with what I thought was just a bad cold until I tested positive for covid. During this time I binged Netflix’s latest series, How to Get Rich. The fact that I found comfort watching a personal finance show while sick proves how twisted I am. Of course, you can’t have a show called How to Get Rich without talking about real estate. I think we are all familiar with the narrative that owning a home is the “American Dream” and that real estate is the biggest driver of wealth. The host of the show, Ramit Sehi (a financial expert) reevaluates real estate’s role in what he calls building “a rich life.”

Rather than subject you to 8 hours of a personal finance show, I am going to lay out some of his more interesting points about real estate. Similar to the renting vs. buying conversation, prospective buyers are hungry for a more intellectual conversation about what buying real estate in this country means and, of course, if they are interested in buying, exactly how to do it.

So skip the “I’m a top producer” posts and let’s build content around what people really want to hear.

That concludes EBDC Pulse’s free content for the week! This email was sent to 164 real estate professionals. Help us reach more subscribers by forwarding this week’s issue to your colleagues!
